Turkey Stuffing

Ingredients / Directions
__Cut 1 1-lb. loaf of heavy bread into cubes (not Wonderbread, not
chewy--go to bakery and get basic white bread; I leave crust on)
Sprinkle over bread cubes:
In a frying pan melt:
Add:
Sprinkle over bread cubes:
- 2 tsps. salt
- ½ tsp. pepper
- 5 tsps. rubbed sage
- 1 tsp. ground thyme
- Mix together.
In a frying pan melt:
- 1 square butter
- 1 square margarine
Add:
- 3 cups chopped onion
- 2 cups diced celery
- Simmer gently until tender. Add to bread and mix together.
- In 1 cup of milk add 1 egg and beat lightly together. Add to stuffing and mix thoroughly.
- You can boil the neck and giblets and use the liquid from that instead of using milk.
- Bread can be cubed and seasoned ahead of time, adding butter mixture and milk right before baking.
- Bake in 300-350 degree oven for about 1 hour in buttered baking dish, drizzling drippings from turkey
